Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Ms Grace Fu to Attend the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week and New York Climate Week

Singapore, 23 September 2024 – Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, will be in New York, United States of America from 23 to 27 September 2024 for the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Week and the New York Climate Week.

2 Minister Fu will speak at several events, including (i) the Climate Leaders’ Assembly organised by Carbonless Asia, and co-hosted by Bain & Company, GenZero, and Singapore’s National Climate Change Secretariat; and (ii) the Leaders’ Panel on the Voluntary Carbon Markets Day co-organised by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM), Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative (VCMI), and Global Carbon Market Utility (GCMU).

3 Minister Fu will participate in high-level meetings including the Ministerial Consultation Meeting on the Plastic Pollution and the third COP29-IEA (International Energy Agency) High-Level Energy Transition Dialogue. She will also have bilateral meetings with counterparts and corporate leaders on the sidelines of the official meetings, and attend a special event at the invitation of the United Arab Emirates.

4 Minister Fu will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and National Climate Change Secretariat.
