Written Reply to Parliamentary Question on Eligible Products under the Climate Friendly Households Programme by Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment
Question:
Mr Patrick Tay Teck Guan: To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment whether the list of eligible products for purchase using the Climate Vouchers can be expanded to include (i) air-conditioning servicing, (ii) energy efficient de-humidifiers and (iii) energy efficient clothes dryers.
Mr Liang Eng Hwa: To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment (a) whether the Ministry has plans to expand the list of eligible products that can be purchased utilising the Climate Vouchers; and (b) whether other energy efficient items such as clothes dryers can be included.
Answer:
The enhanced Climate Friendly Households Programme (CFHP) encourages households to adopt energy- and water-efficient household products. The list of eligible products for purchase using the Climate Vouchers (CVs) was recently expanded on 15 April 2024 from three products to ten products, to include a broader range of items such as direct current fans and washing machines. We will periodically review the list of products.
2. Equipment servicing costs, such as that for air-conditioners, are not covered under the CFHP, as this does not meet the objective of the CVs of supporting households to replace less energy efficient equipment with more efficient ones in order to reduce their energy consumption and expenses.
