4 February 2025
Written Reply by Minister Grace Fu to Parliamentary Question on the Government's Nationally Determined Contribution on 4 Feb 2025.
Question:
Mr Dennis Tan Lip Fong: To ask the Prime Minister and Minister for Finance whether the Government will explain how its upcoming Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) submission to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change is aligned with the country's net-zero emissions trajectory.
Answer:
Singapore is committed to our target of attaining net zero emissions by 2050. Our 2035 Nationally Determined Contribution, which we will be submitting on 10th February 2025 as required under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, will keep Singapore on track to achieve our 2050 target. Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean, Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Climate Change, will elaborate on this at the upcoming Committee of Supply Debate.
