Miss Cheryl Chan Wei Ling: To ask the Minister for Sustainability and the Environment whether the Ministry will consider introducing smoking cabins in residential areas such as condominiums and allow the management corporation strata title to regulate via bye laws that smoking can only be done at such cabins.
Answer:
1 Condominiums’ management corporations, or MCSTs, can carry out improvements to the common property, and enact by-laws to manage the development, including for the deployment of smoking cabins in non-smoking prohibited areas within the development, subject to the relevant provisions under the Building Maintenance and Strata Management Act.
