Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu to participate in the G20 Environment and Climate Sustainability Ministerial Meeting 2023

Singapore, 27 July 2023 – Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, Ms Grace Fu, will participate in the G20 Environment and Climate Sustainability Ministerial Meeting (ECSMM) in Chennai, India on 28 July 2023. Singapore is participating as a guest country of India as the G20 President this year.

2 India’s theme for its G20 Presidency is ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’. At the G20 ECSMM, G20 members and invited countries will discuss issues related to climate change, blue economy, circular economy, land degradation and biodiversity loss, and water resource management.

3 Minister Fu will highlight the leadership role of the G20 in galvanising action for climate change and the need to put water high on the global agenda and to strengthen water governance under the multilateral system. At the sidelines of the Meeting, Minister Fu will meet counterparts to exchange views and discuss bilateral cooperation on environment and climate sustainability issues.

4 Minister Fu will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment.
