Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu to attend the 16th Brunei-Singapore Annual Exchange of Visits

Singapore, 22 October 2023 – Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu will visit Brunei Darussalam from 23 to 25 October 2023 to attend the 16th Brunei-Singapore Annual Exchange of Visits (BSAEV).

2 The 16th BSAEV will be co-chaired by Minister Fu and Brunei’s Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mohd Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid to exchange views on regional and international developments in climate change and environmental protection and review bilateral cooperation under the Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Partnership in Environment Affairs and Climate Change in areas including waste management, water resource management and air quality management. The Ministers will also explore new areas of exchanges and cooperation.

3 During her visit, Minister Fu will call on Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Amin Liew Abdullah to discuss bilateral cooperation on food security and climate change. Minister Fu will also meet with senior officials from the Bruneian Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, Ministry of Development and the Brunei Climate Change Secretariat to exchange views on sustainability and climate change issues. She will also meet with Brunei-based agri-food entrepreneurs to learn more about their operations.

4 Minister Fu will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, National Environment Agency (NEA), PUB (Singapore’s National Water Agency) and Singapore Food Agency (SFA).
